Charles Economou has been the accompanist of Ealing Choral Society since 2005.
Charles was educated at St Paul's School and Cambridge University, where he studied mathematics, but was also the holder of an Instrumental Award, which enabled him to play in a trio coached by members of the Endellion Quartet. While at Cambridge he performed Beethoven's Emperor Concerto with one of the university orchestras.
Since graduating, he has devoted himself entirely to music, giving many concerts in West London as soloist and accompanist. He has performed the demanding piano part of Stravinsky's Petrushka with West London Sinfonia. Recently he has developed an enthusiasm for collaborating with singers in Lieder recitals.
Meanwhile his solo work covers a wide repertoire ranging from Bach to Boulez.
