We’ll be trying out a slightly different format for our quiz social this year and going for a mix of quiz rounds, puzzles and opportunities to mix socially with your team during the course of the evening.

Unlike the Christmas social, the quiz social is not restricted to choir members and associates – please invite your families and friends to join in – the more the merrier!

Teams

We’ll be competing in teams of eight for the quiz elements of the evening – we’ll be using the breakout room function on Zoom to make sure you’ll be able to answer questions with the rest of your team, even if you’re sat in different houses. There are a couple of options for teams:

• If you have a team of eight– that’s fine – we’ll make sure you’re all in the same breakout room as your team-mates
• If you’re by yourself or have a smaller group – that’s also fine – we’ll pair you up with other attendees to make teams of eight
• Please include the following information when you email ecs.social.sec@gmail.com to book your tickets:
  • number of people you’re booking for
  • names of people you’re booking for
  • how many devices your team will be joining the Zoom from – an estimate is fine.

The deadline for booking and paying for places is midnight on 27^th January

Prior to the Night

A ticket confirmation will also be emailed to you once we’ve received your email and payment- this will be with you before the quiz, but may take a couple of days to drop into your inbox.

Keep an eye on your emails – there will be at least one picture-based round sent to you by email prior to the evening – you can make a head start on this or wait until you’re in your breakout room with your team.

If you’ve not used Zoom before please check out this link for information https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us it’s useful to know how to join a meeting with a link, mute and unmute yourself and turn your video on and off. You don’t need to make your own account, or download the software if you don’t want to – just select the join in the web browser option on the night.

On the Night

There will be a waiting room in operation on the meeting – don’t worry if you have to wait a few minutes between 7:15 and 7:30 before you’re let in – we won’t start until the waiting room is empty.

You’ll need paper and pens or pencils to note down your answers to any questions

Bring along any drinks and nibbles you want to enjoy during the event – there’ll be breaks built into the evening too if you need to replenish!

We’re aiming to be finished by about 9:15pm.
